Spiritual Messiah Ministries Statement of Faith

[Spiritual Messiah Ministries is an “evolving” ministry. As higher theological and spiritual understandings are reached, this statement will be updated accordingly]

Messianic Spiritualism, Christianity, or whatever else it is you want to call it is the world’s oldest faith. In the days before the “First-Coming of Christ”, those who believed in the prophecies were known as Messiah-believers (from the Hebrew) or Christ-believers (from the Greek). Christians are “Christ-believers” or “Christ-followers”. Same applies to todays Messianics. Therefore, there were indeed Christians (or Messianics) before the “First-Coming of Christ”. This faith was also referred to as ‘The Way’, by both the pre-First Coming Christians and Yeshua (Jesus) Himself. By default, ‘The Way’ and its modern form known as Christianity pre-date all other faiths.

– in brief:

We believe:
In one God, all knowing, all powerful, and present everywhere. (Matthew 19:26, Mark 14:36, Revelation 4)

That Jesus, in His person is the perfect expression of God’s love for us. (John 1:1)

That God desires a personal relationship with us, and that by His grace, through Jesus Christ, we are set free from the bondage of sin. (Ephesians 2:4-10)

We acknowledge:
That sin and evil exist due to the Lucifer Rebellion.

That Jesus Christ is the Messiah, lived a sinless life and that He died on the cross. The fact people say His blood is an atonement for our sins is a misinterpretation by Paul and of Paul as Paul tried getting rid of pointless sacrifice for sin by suggesting the murder of Christ was the final sacrifice. To think we are sinless and may get away with anything is ludicrous. It is our free-will and choice to commit good or evil. Jesus came to save us, not by sacrifice, but by revelation.

That Jesus rose on the third day, in victory over death, and ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father.

We accept:
Jesus Christ’s salvation offered through the Spiritual Truth He gave to us.

We will:
Obey the greatest commandment to love God with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind. And we will love our neighbor as we love ourself. (Matthew 22:36-40)

Submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit and seek His guidance through the Word of God.

Release our sins and burdens to Jesus, and allow Him to heal our heart.

Seek fellowship and worship with other believers. (1 John 1:5-7)

Obey Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15).

Statement of Faith in-depth:

We believe that the original Scriptures are a reliable, accurate, and fully trustworthy account of God’s nature and character, of His actions in human history, of His laws, and of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We affirm that the Scriptures are to be the standard of faith and practice by which the life of the church, and the lives of it’s individual members and their families, are to be governed. We also affirm that the Scriptures are the standard by which all revelation and tradition is to be judged. We believe that there is a progressive aspect to God’s revelation; that there are areas of truth which are taught in Scripture, but which we do not fully understand until the Holy Spirit further illuminates them.

The Father is sovereign in the government of His creation and human history by His wise and holy providence. He is all-powerful, all-loving, and all-wise, righteous in all his ways, and just in all His works. He chose all those who would become His children in Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world, and He demonstrates His fatherly love for his children by caring for them, providing for them, instructing and disciplining them. His purpose is to prepare a family of redeemed people on the earth to show forth His glory.

Jesus Christ is a Son of God. Jesus always did the will of the Father. He took upon Himself human nature and identified fully with humanity. He honored the divine will and law by obedience. He was resurrected and appeared to His disciples. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God the Father where He is the one Mediator effecting the reconciliation between God and man and providing access to the Father for the believer.
The Father has established Him as Lord over all things and has appointed Him as Judge of the world. He is the Head of the Church. He will return in power and glory at the end of the present age to judge the world and to complete His redemptive mission by establishing in full measure the kingdom and reign of God. He will then return to the Father the government of all things so that “God may be all in all.”
He presently dwells in all believers through the Holy Spirit as the living and ever-present Lord. He is the heir of all things. He was and is the perfect Prophet, Priest, and King, representing God to humanity, humanity to God, and being fully entitled to reign as King over all creation.

We believe that man was created in the image of God as the crowning work of Gods creation. Man stood in a unique relationship with his Creator and was commissioned to rule the earth under God’s headship. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God and fell from his unique relationship to God. Thus all mans descendants inherit both a nature and an environment perverted by sin.

We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is available only in and through Jesus Christ. Salvation is offered to all people, but is appropriated and experienced only by those who respond in faith to God’s call to submit to Yeshua / Jesus as Lord and Savior. Those who have been saved are given as a gift the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Faith is itself a gift from God and is preceded by the convicting work of the Holy Spirit, which enables a person to repent of His sin and self-determinism.

We believe that Yeshua / Jesus Christ will physically return to earth in power and glory. He will come to judge the living and the dead, rewarding the righteous and punishing the wicked. While there are many viewpoints concerning His second coming we believe Christians should lovingly look for His appearing, giving full attention to obedience to all that He has commanded until He comes.
There are three primary views concerning the second coming of Christ. They are premillennialism, amillennialism and postmillennialism. Historically, Reformed theology has primarily taught amillennial and postmillennial theology.

We believe that every person will stand before God and be judged at the end of this age. For the righteous this judgement will determine their reward. For the unrighteous, those who have lived a life of rebellion against God’s law and Gospel, this judgement will determine their punishment.

Statement On The Sancity Of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable in worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception to natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139)

Statement On Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God in that person.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including fornication, adultery, homosexual behaviour, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God.

We believe that in order to protect the function and integrity of Spiritual Messiah Ministries as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a scriptural role model to the Spiritual Messiah Ministries members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Spiritual Messiah Ministries in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement of Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, the Statement of Faith, and are members of Spiritual Messiah Ministries as outlined in the Constitution and ByLaws.

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, kindness, love, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing attitudes or behavior directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Spiritual Messiah Ministries.

Question:
Do you want to know Yeshua / Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? It’s as easy as asking Him to come into your heart and life. Find a believer to pray with you this simple prayer:

“Jesus, I know that I have sinned and that you have died to forgive me of my sins. Please come into my heart, and make me a new creation in you.”

Now, go and tell someone for this is mandatory, according to the Word of God:

“That if you shall confess with your mouth (telling someone) the Lord Jesus (that Jesus is your Lord) and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, YOU SHALL BE SAVED!

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9,10)

[Final Authority For Belief And Conduct
This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible, and chosen Gnostic Scriptures, are the sole and final sources for all that we believe. For purposes of Spiritual Messiah Ministries faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Senior Pastor (Rev. Dr. Red Conrad, D.D.) is Spiritual Messiah Ministries final interpretive authority on the Bible and chosen Gnostic Scriptures meaning and application.]
